IWC shared its water expertise through a peer reviewed report with partners from International RiverFoundation, who supported the Twinning Project of Lake Bam in Burkina Faso. The Alexander River Restoration Project in Israel has twinned with Lake Bam in Burkina Faso to support them in the development of a strategy to resolve the significant sedimentation problems in the lake.

The report recommended a range of practical restoration techniques in two phases for future donor negotiations and has contributed to developing a clear and “bankable” strategy for restoration and therefore improved livelihoods for the people of the Lake Bam region.
