Scholarships for postgraduate water education
The International WaterCentre's Master of Integrated Water Management equips students with the integration, leadership, managerial and technical skills to become part of an elite group of water leaders with sustainable and holistic solutions to global water and climate change challenges.
The Integrated Water Management suite of programs is custom-designed by leading practitioners and academics from a range of disciplines from International WaterCentre (IWC) member universities.
IWC Water Leader Scholarships
The IWC Water Leader Scholarships offer full and partial tuition scholarships for full-time and part-time/distance study for the International WaterCentre's Master of Integrated Water Management program.
Australian Development Scholarships
Australian Development Scholarships equip students with the skills and knowledge to drive change and influence and development outcomes of their own country through obtaining tertiary qualifications at participating Australian higher education (The University of Queensland is a participating institution) institutions and technical colleges.
Eligible countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Botswana, Cambodia, China, Fiji, French Polynesia, Indonesia, Kenya, Kiribati, Laos, Lesotho, Malawi, Maldives, Mongolia, Mozambique, Namibia, New Caledonia, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, South, Africa, Sri Lanka, Swaziland, Tanzania, Timor Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Wallis and Fortuna, Zambia
Endeavour Postgraduate Awards
The Endeavour Postgraduate Awards provide financial support for international students for up to 3.5 years to undertake a postgraduate qualification at a Masters or PhD level either by coursework or research in any field of study in Australia. The awards are a competitive, merit-based scholarship program providing opportunities for citizens of the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia.
Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) Scholarships
An ALA Scholarship enables candidates to undertake studies leading to a Masters or Doctorate degree in Australia. It does not include Graduate Diplomas, with the exception of those Masters courses that require the completion of a Graduate Diploma as part of the Masters degree.

Ken Thiess Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship for the International WaterCentre's full-time Master of Integrated Water Management program provides a valuable opportunity for five, young emerging community leaders from around the globe to develop their integrated water management knowledge and skills so that they may make a real and positive difference to the way water is managed in their local communities and countries in which they live.
World Bank Scholarships for students from World Bank member countries
In 1987, the World Bank, with funding from the Government of Japan, established the World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (WBGSP) for graduate studies in subjects related to economic development. Each year the program awards scholarships to individuals from World Bank member countries to undertake graduate studies at renowned universities throughout member countries of the Bank.

Fellowship Fund Incorporated, a branch of Australian Federation of University Women Queensland. The Fund has been providing scholarships to assist women with tertiary qualifications to increase their knowledge and broaden their experience through studying or working in a different environment.
Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP)
The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) is an international program under which member governments offer scholarships and fellowships to citizens of other Commonwealth countries. See Countries Offering Awards for details of what awards are available at the moment.
Ernest Jackson Memorial Research Grants
The Society has been making grants to students to assist them carry out aspects of their studies since 1987. Full time students can apply for a grant of up to $2000 to assist them in undertaking research in aspects of catchment and natural resource management.
Ambassadorial Scholarships (Rotary club)
Academic-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships provide a flat grant of US$26,000 for one academic year of study to US students in another country. These awards are intended to help defray costs associated with round-trip transportation, tuition and other fees, room and board, and some educational supplies.
Some Rotary districts may not offer scholarships. Applicants must check with their local club about availability. Grants are provided in U.S. dollars or their international equivalent.

Financial assistance for Australian students
Australian Government scholarships
Australian citizens and those holding permanent humanitarian visas are eligible to apply for scholarships, awards and other funding available from the Australian Government.
FEE-HELP
Australian students can apply for FEE-HELP, which enables eligible students to obtain a Federal Government loan to pay all or part of their tuition fees.
Tax incentives
The Australian Government offers a variety of tax benefits for people to enrol in professional development courses related to their field of work.
