Members and partners

The International WaterCentre was formed by its four member universities in partnership with the Healthy Waterways Partnership and International RiverFoundation. The Queensland State Government is also a key investor and valuable IWC partner. The IWC is involved in many areas of the global water sector through strategic partnerships with a range of other national and international organisations.

Three IWC member universities are ranked in the top 100 universities in the world in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2009.

The University of Queensland

The University of Queensland is one of Australia's premier learning and research institutions. It is the largest and oldest university in Queensland and has produced generations of graduates who have become leaders in all areas of society and industry.

Griffith University

Monash University

The University of Western Australia

Established in 1911, UWA is a member of the prestigious 'Group of Eight' Australian research-intensive universities. UWA is characterised by a strong research and post-graduate emphasis based on, and closely linked to, a high quality undergraduate education across the range of disciplines in the arts, sciences and the major professions including law, medicine, engineering and computer science.

Healthy Waterways Partnership

Healthy Waterways is a program of the Moreton Bay Waterways & Catchments Partnership which created the vision of healthy waterways for the future. We are working with government, community, industry, researchers and traditional owners throughout South East Queensland to improve the health, wealth and beauty of our waterways and catchments.

International RiverFoundation

The International RiverFoundation was established in 2003 to advocate the protection and restoration of the world's rivers and waterways for future generations. The organisation is now the funding source for the International and National Thiess Riverprize.

Queensland Government

The Queensland Government is working with local governments, water service providers, industry and the community to ensure we have access to secure and reliable water supplies. To meet future demands on water and increasing water scarcity, the Queensland Government is:

improving management of existing resources by reducing demand, improving efficiencies and maximising recycling opportunities;
minimising water losses and wastage; and
investing in new water supply infrastructure.
